FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to have exercise equipment at home in order to sign up for Mobile (In-Home) Sessions?

No.  Although we will utilize any equipment you may have, the Kinesiologist will also have portable equipment to bring to your sessions.  Also, do not forget, there is a long list of exercises that can be performed with no equipment at all!

What should I expect at my Initial Assessment?

First things first:

  • If you were interested in Virtual sessions, you would sign up for a Virtual Assessment that would be conducted via Embodia.
  • If you were interested in Mobile (In-Home) sessions, you would sign up for a Mobile (In-Home) Assessment that would be conducted in your home.

Prior to this appointment, your Kinesiologist will have emailed you instructions to complete an Intake Form online via JaneApp.  You will be required to fill out your contact information, medical history, and some other helpful information for your Kinesiologist.

On the day of your appointment, your Kinesiologist will review the contents of your Intake Form with you.  Depending on the type of Assessment (i.e. Virtual/Mobile), the Kinesiologist will select the appropriate Assessment measures/tests to conduct.

Examples may include:

  • Body measurements, Weight and Body Fat%
  • Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, Blood Oxygen Saturation Levels
  • Range of Motion and Flexibility Tests
  • Strength and Endurance Tests
  • Posture, Gait, and Balance Assessment

*Every client will be required to go through an Initial Assessment before being able to purchase Kinesiology or Personal Training services..*

Can I sign up for Partner Training with my mother/father, husband/wife, sister/brother, friend?

Clients will be permitted to purchase Partner Training Sessions on a conditional basis.  Each client will be required to be assessed independently to determine if Partner sessions would be appropriate.  You do not necessarily have to have the same level of strength, but would have to have similar functional capabilities and a similar status of health.

  • EXAMPLE 1:   Mary would like to sign up for Partner Training sessions with her husband Bill.  Bill is able to lift up to 100 pounds, while Mary is only able to lift up to 50 pounds.  Bill and Mary have no limiting health conditions or injuries.  Bill and Mary are likely to be approved for Partner Sessions.

  • EXAMPLE 2:  George has inquired about signing up for Partner Training sessions with his father Gary.  George is 30 years old and in great health.  Gary is 55 years old and has a history of heart disease.  Last year he underwent Hip Replacement surgery.  George and Gary are not likely to be approved for Partner Sessions.  At this time, it would be more appropriate for George to sign up for Individual Personal Training sessions and for Gary to sign up for Kinesiology sessions.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We will accept the following forms of payment:

  • Cash
  • Interac eTransfer
  • Cheque (must clear prior to beginning sessions)
  • Credit Card (via your JaneApp account).
